Harlequin’s ‘Next Gillian Flynn’ Winner Releases Two New Supernatural Suspense Novels
Winner of Harlequin’s international search for “the next Gillian Flynn,” J.H. Moncrieff is releasing the first two novels in her GhostWriters series, City of Ghosts and The Girl Who Talks to Ghosts (DeathZone Books). Both books will be released on May 16, 2017.
Fascinated with unsolved mysteries, true crime and haunted locations, the author was inspired by her travels to the Chinese ghost city, Fengdu, and the haunted Italian island of Poveglia. The series deals with the nature of why spirits may linger instead of moving on, and transports readers to the world’s most supernatural and exotic locations.
The series features Jackson Stone, a disgruntled IT worker with dreams of writing books about the supernatural, and Kate, a gifted medium who experiences the emotions and deaths of the departed souls she communicates with.
In City of Ghosts, Jackson and Kate meet on a tour of China, where they must work together to reveal a dark and sinister secret about what happened to the women who vanished from a Chinese village.
J.H. Moncrieff began her writing career as a journalist, tracking down snipers and canoeing through crocodile-infested waters. Her articles have appeared in many national and international publications, including The Globe and Mail. She’s also a book doctor for a NYC literary agent and a professional ghostwriter with Gotham Ghostwriters in New York.
J.H. has co-written a psychological suspense for Harlequin, Take it to the Grave, which will be released in June under the pen name Zoe Carter. Her novella, 2015’s The Bear Who Wouldn’t Leave, stayed on Samhain’s horror bestsellers list for over a year.
“J.H. Moncrieff is a bold new voice in horror and supernatural suspense.”
